I can't say enough about my sessions with Karen, before, my confidence was shot, my horse would rear, rip the lead rope out of my and hands and leave, he bucked when I rode him, I had pretty much given up. Things started to change as soon as Karen started coaching us, I don't know exactly what happened, but our whole relationship changed. My horse looks at me differently, we seem to understand each other much better, he stops and "asks questions" , I can't remember the last time he ran off. Now, if I do get an occasional buck, I can look at the whole situation and usually figure out what caused it (usually something I did.... or didn't do!) The joy and fun are back in my interactions with my horse! I only wish Karen lived closer so we could see her more often!

I just wanted to thank you for the fabulous workshop yesterday. That was just I've been wanting to learn for a long while. While I was watching you, I could see just what you were talking about. When I was trying to do it myself, I noticed my "stuff" comes up where it's hard for me to get big and set clear boundaries. Good awareness for me and something to work on. ~~Becky
Thanks again for a wonderful, mind-blowing day on Friday - I'm still chewing on all that I learned and tried to put some into action over the weekend. It's almost too fantastic to explain to others some of this and I especially am so totally intrigued by the 'eye' contact and visual commands I can't hardly stand it! In fact, I would really like to have a bit of a refresher on that - I honestly felt like I had even greater response from my horses and picked up a vibe from them as if they were saying 'hey Jan, welcome to our world, you actually get it!!!'. What a feeling! ~~Rebecca
I met Karen Jones at a Karen Rohlf clinic in April, 2008. I had attended a clinic with K1 in Baker, FL and she invited me to participate in a week long clinic/seminar at her farm near Ocala. Karen was one of 7 other partipants, Parelli aficionados who were interested in learning “Dressage Naturally” and I was a dressage student interested in learning “Dressage Naturally.” While I watched in amazement 7 ladies and their horses, in halters and rope reins(most of the reins were long or loose), some in western saddles produced some of the most relaxed and soft lateral work I have ever seen. I, on the other hand spent the week on my warmblood dressage horse learning about foundational yields, horsanality strategies for relaxation and the power of natural horsemanship. I did manage to win the award for “most improved,” as my very high strung, right brained mare began to relax and give me glimpses of the talented horse I knew was in there. I returned to K1’s for more lessons but I knew that my foundation really needed work and when I found out the Karen Jones(K2) came to the area where I lived I jumped on the opportunity and persuaded her to come to Bay County for a day of her schedule. She hit the ground running and found the cracks in each student’s foundation in a very short time. She has an amazingly huge quiver of arrows and gave each student several tasks, tool handling techniques and exercises for their horse. She reads the horse and his needs instantly and is an exceptional communicator to horse and rider.
She has been back 3 times and we have had to add days each time as more and more students of riding learn the value of becoming a student of the horse, with Karen as our coach. My mare is the poster child of before and after results of consistent play with careful coaching and I am soo thankful for Karen’s insight and experience. I spend as much time as I can watching her coach when my lessons are done and have learned as much and more from observing how she interacts with each horse/rider combination.
We never want her to leave and count the days between her visits. I can’t wait for the next one!

I'm amazed at what I have just read. The description of the house (and many other details) are incredibly correct! Thank you very, very much for helping Kuma and me during this difficult process. She is a highly sensitive dog and this mustn't be easy for her.
There are no words to describe how I am feeling now as tears fall down my cheeks. Thank you for making us feel closer. These two mails that you have sent me about Kuma and Smiif make me feel more in peace. Thank you once more.
Blessings to you too! I will follow your advice.
Sending you a hug from the heart!! ~~Jan
Just want to tell you how much I enjoyed our session. I could not wait to get to the barn and ((hug)) my Nakita !! I talked to my husband about it and he was impressed by the things you told me. This was just so cool to do !!!
Thanks again!! ~~Barbara
